Can I earn professional development credit (example: CPE) for completing friEdOnline courses? How many credit hours is my course worth?
Credit is offered for some courses based upon on time it takes to complete the course activities. You must complete the course in its entirety in order to earn credit. The possible credits earned is at the top of the course card. Check with your school district to determine whether our courses will count for credit in your district.
What can I expect from a friEdOnline course?
Like all friEdTechnology learning experiences, our goal is to provide you an interesting, practical, applicable learning experience. You will have the opportunity to evaluate your course, and we will use the information you provide to make each course better and more valuable. We strive to make everything YOU do something YOU can use later so that your time learning is not wasted on an audience of one.
What if other members of my team/school/district want to participate together?
If your school or district wants at least 25 seats in a single course, we can create a custom course for you that only your team will be able to participate in. Please contact firstname.lastname@example.org for discounted pricing and more information.
What are the technical requirements for taking a course?
BROWSER- We suggest you use the latest version of Google Chrome to view your courses. Our courses have several interactive elements and we have found they all work beautifully in Chrome.
VIDEOS- The videos are stored in Google Drive or on YouTube. You can watch them within the course. If you choose to use another browser, you may have to log into your google account to view the videos. When starting a video you will need to click it twice.
DEVICE- The courses will work on all devices, but your best experience will be on a larger screen. So, if you are choosing between a phone or a monitor to view the content on- go with the monitor!
I don’t have a friEdOnline account. How do I create one?
Go to friedtech.online and click the pink “sign in” button. On the login pop up page, click “Create a new account for free” in the bottom left corner. Now, enter your full name, email address, create a password, your organization and check whether you would like our newsletter. Then, click “Start your learning journey.”
I have a friEdOnline account but can’t log in.
If you selected your own password when creating your friEdOnline account you can use the “Forgot your password?” function on the Login/Sign up page to reset your password.
If you used the Google button and your Google credentials to create your friEdOnline account you are NOT able to use the “Forgot your password?” function since the login information is not stored in friEdOnline. You will need to try logging in with the Google button. If you have tried both options you can email us at email@example.com.
I need to change my email address and other Profile information in friEdOnline.
Log into friEdOnline using the email address you used to set the account up. It won't matter if it is active or not. You will need to update it asap though, so you can receive emails from our school lwith links to your courses and completion certificates.
2. Click the Edit button under your name in the top center.
3. Change the email address to the desired one. Make sure to click SAVE!
NOTE: While you are here, update your profile picture and other info by using the menu on the left. Don't forget to save your edits.
I have an enrollment code from my school to register for free, but it is not working.
1. Make sure you are on the correct course page for your District/Organization’s Cohort. We have several cohorts of the same course so it’s easy to go to the wrong one. Use the link in the provided directions. See friEdOnline Cohort Courses
2. On your cohort course purchase page, in the Payment section, click, "Yes, I have a promo code!" and enter the EXACT code given to you. The enrollment code is case sensitive. Also, make sure you have not entered any extra spaces.
3. Click the REDEEM button and this will change your total owed to $0.
4. Please DO NOT enter any personal payment information if you are redeeming an enrollment code for a course your district purchased. If Paypal opens for any reason, you probably have not clicked the Redeem button. STOP and return to friEdOnline.
I have an enrollment code from my school to register for free, but it is expired.
You will need to contact someone in your district. You can always try the code to see if the expiration date has been extended. If it doesn’t work, contact the person in your district that sent you the enrollment directions to see if they plan to extend the deadline.
How long will I have access to my course?
You will have access to your course for a set period of time from the minute you sign up. In general, our courses will be available to you for 10 months from the minute you enroll. However, there are times when a district will purchase a course for a shorter period of time like 2 months. When you enroll in your course, pay attention to the time span on the email receipt sent to you. It will contain your start day and your end date.
I am having trouble with elements of my course loading.
Try restarting your computer.
Clear the cache and cookies in your Chrome browser. (how to)
Turn off your extensions or pop-up blockers. (how to)
If you are using your school-managed G Suite account, contact your district technology staff to ensure no content/ad/pop-up blockers have been installed by your district.
Try another browser to see if you can access the items there.

How do I find my course completion certificate?
You can find your certificates easily by going to your friEdOnline Profile page, https://www.friedtech.online/profile. Here you will see all of your completed courses with a download PDF icon next to it. Click the icon and it will download the certificate to your device.
What is the difference between a friEdTechnology FOLĒ and a friEdOnline Course?
A friEdOnline course is hosted in our online school, https://www.friedtech.online.
Our courses are on-demand (you start, stop, and resume at your own pace), interactive (you’ll be completing tasks as you move through the course), comprehensive (nearly impossible in a live session), asynchronous (happens on your own time / ie. not live) learning experiences that you complete when and where you want. You will receive 2, 3, 6 or 12 hours credit for completing the course.
Our Facilitated Online Learning Experience (FOLĒ) combines digital, synchronous webinars, guided assignments via Google Classroom and includes templates/assignments for extended learning. During a FOLĒ, you will attend live sessions with real, live PD providers who will walk you through the learning materials, more like traditional “live” PD (except not boring and horrible).
I am in a Google Level 1 or 2 Prep Course and haven’t received my voucher code.
complete each lesson in this course (look at the navigation menu and check to make sure each one has a checkmark by it),
pass the course final assessment with at least 80%, and
claim your course completion certificate,
you will receive an email from email@example.com that contains your individual voucher code in an attached PDF.
This email will be sent within an hour of completion of this course.

I am in the Google Level 1 or 2 Prep Course and am having trouble with my ProctorU exam.
Unfortunately, there are always obstacles to overcome when transitioning software. Google is working to iron out all of the kinks with ProctorU and they are experiencing some problems. friEdTechnology doesn’t work with ProctorU though, so unfortunately there is not a lot that we can do that you can’t. Please try the support chat on the ProctorU website to share the problem you have. We have created a Troubleshooting Doc that we will keep updated with the most current information we have. You can navigate to the course purchase page and enter a promo code (if you have one), click Redeem and then Continue.
For any remaining costs, PayPal will open and you can now enter your payment information. If you have an account, log in and complete the transaction. If you do not have a Paypal account, use the Paypal Guest Checkout and enter your credit card information.

What if we need to pay with a PO?
If your school or district needs to pay with a PO (Purchase Order), please email us at email@example.com and let us know how many participants you would like to enroll. We will send you a quote, then after the course is complete, we will send you an invoice. A $25 fee will be added for processing your purchase order if your order is for less than five participants.
Can I get a refund?
Due to the nature of online learning experiences (once you see the content, you have the materials), we do not offer refunds for our courses. We understand that sometimes things happen in life that are beyond our control, and that’s one of the reasons why most of our courses are available for 10 months from the date of enrollment.
